NAFA’s Arts Management Programme provides comprehensive training in a range of skills to prepare you for a career in the exciting arts scene and cultural industries. In addition to learning how to manage the operations of arts companies, graduates play a key role in supporting the artists in organising arts events and developing audiences. Graduates of the programme can look forward to making an impact in the development of the arts in Singapore and beyond.
Diploma in Art Management
The Diploma in Arts Management aims to train professionals for the arts and cultural industries, an important and growing sector. Through a broad-based and practice-led curriculum, you will be equipped with a range of essential business and technical skills for work in arts and cultural organisations, projects, festivals, and events.
Internships and industry projects as well as an overseas immersion programme will be provided to prepare you to enter this vibrant and increasingly sophisticated industry as a young professional.
You will be taught by a team of experienced lecturers and be given opportunities to learn from industry practitioners.
Learning Outcomes
- Discuss the performing, visual and literary arts using appropriate vocabulary
- Discuss arts and cultural issues from a local and global perspective
- Explain and analyse management issues relating to arts and cultural organisations
- Apply the knowledge of the arts scene in decision-making as arts managers
- Develop and implement marketing solutions, for arts organisations and events
- Develop fundraising and entrepreneurial plans for arts organisations and projects
- Apply budgeting and accounting skills for arts projects and events
- Implement appropriate human resource management practices
- Explain and respond appropriately to the legalities and government policies pertaining to the arts
- Contribute to the management of a range of arts and cultural projects
- Explain and discuss technical requirements of any arts projects using appropriate vocabulary
- Install, operate, and maintain simple lighting and sound systems
- Apply basic stage management skills for arts performances
- Use a variety of digital platforms and software to contribute to the success and sustainability of arts organisations and projects
- Apply written and oral communication skills appropriate for arts management
